Salvatore is a postdoctoral researcher working at the crossroads of cognitive neuroscience and AI, bridging INT-mindlab (CNRS-Aix-Marseille Université) and Adalab (a local private data science company). Always fascinated by the tension between artificial and biological systems, he was trained as a biomedical engineer (BSc, Cagliari) and neuroengineer (MSc, Genoa), building a deep and reinforcement learning model of the mirror neuron system. He later worked on language models and explainable word embeddings at CNR IMATI, and earned his PhD in Systems Neuroscience from Aix-Marseille Université (2026), where he studied visual motion processing and perception under the supervision of Frédéric Chavane.
