Engineer by training, Nicolas Meirhaeghe obtained his PhD in computational and integrative neuroscience at MIT (USA), working in Mehrdad Jazayeri’s team from 2016 to 2021. His thesis work focused on the link between neural dynamics and time estimation, and aimed to understand how neural activity incorporates our past experiences to inform our future behaviors. Nicolas then returned to France to do postdoctoral research at the Timone Institute of Neuroscience (Marseille) in Thomas Brochier’s team, before being recruited as a CNRS researcher in 2025.
